Song of the Day: Razorlight - Golden Touch
It's ramping up to be a big month.. I'm wondering if this is the start of the christmas rush..?
Ok I know, its August.. but things around here are weird. The year is quiet and sleepy at this time, everyone is on their summer holidays and nobody does much work. Its a time of high heeled mules, strappy tops, crop jeans, lace ponchos, music festivals, cold cold apple beer @ the Bierodrome, sweaty nights at the Hope & Anchor, rollerblading in Hyde Park, late night shopping, beautiful warm afternoons and music festivals, to name a few things. It was a lovely time to be here.. and from now its the decline into winter. Everyone returns from their holidays, it starts to get cold, and the winter season parties start up. Boots and trenchcoats come out of the closet, colorful new scarves and mittens appear all over the high street, Gap have covetable Katie-Holmes advertised winter wear, mulled wine becomes a favourite, snow falls not nearly often enough. I love this place, no matter what time of year.
Went to Regent's Park last night to see Jimmy Carr again. As usual, he was in top shaggable form, and oh yeah, he can tell a joke or two. I'd never been to the open air theatre (or Regent's Park for that matter) and it was just lovely. The bar opened with not only the usual alcohol but food too, and strawberries and cream, and it was a cool autumn like evening.. the wind whistled through the trees, a light jacket was really all that was needed and Jimmy delivered some of the funniest material I've ever had the pleasure to hear. What a legend.
Recently I went to see Keane in Battle, East Sussex. You can read my review here if you like.
In other news.. Michael arrives this weekend and then we're off to Amsterdam pretty much straight away. Bless.
